Experience that carries through to the detail.

Dry fire covers the electrical detection and warning systems within a building’s fire strategy. When a device signals an alarm, the response may involve occupant warnings and interfaces with other services. The required sequence comes from the building’s design. Our work is to understand those connections and deliver the agreed installation and commissioning scope.

What the work involves.

Fire indicator panels

The fire indicator panel receives signals from connected devices and shows the system’s status. Its connections and programmed responses sit at the centre of the specified fire-system operation.

Detection circuits and devices

Detection circuits connect smoke detectors and other specified devices to the system. Careful routing, connection and circuit testing help make faults easier to locate and resolve.

Occupant warning

Warning equipment alerts people to an incident. Where specified, an Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS) supports the building’s evacuation strategy. Alarm zones and staged responses depend on the design.

Interfaces with the building

The specified response can include doors, lifts, escalators and mechanical services. These interfaces need coordination with the responsible trades so each system responds as intended.

Our approach

How we work with your team.

  1. Requirements and planning

Review drawings and fire engineering inputs. Establish the installation scope, interfaces and responsibilities.

  2. Detection and warning installation

Install the specified panels, cabling, detection devices and warning equipment with testing and access in mind.

  3. Building interfaces

Coordinate the agreed connections with other trades, including doors, lifts and mechanical systems.

  4. Response and evacuation logic

Work through the specified response for each alarm zone, including staged evacuation where the design requires it.

  5. Testing and fault-finding

Test devices and circuits, trace faults and resolve installation issues. Daniel brings experience in complex circuit fault-finding on major projects.

  6. Integrated commissioning

Test the agreed interactions with the responsible trades and specialists. Check the connected response as well as individual components.

  7. Documentation and handover

Provide test records and completion documents within the contracted scope, coordinated with the wider project handover.
